Vacation Guilt
Something I always bring with me to vacations…
One big reason I quit my corporate job was never getting any real “time off”. 😴
Whenever I’d plan a leave, I would first have to consider all the pending deadlines, deliverables, and presentations and figure out a way to manage them.
I would never take too much time off either, as I would feel bad for the people who had to take on my work load.
And the thought of having to sort through the hundreds of emails that are piling up each day would always be on my mind the whole time I was out.
Now I can choose to take as much time off as I want, work when I want to, wherever I want to (or not).
And that’s been life changing.
I’m now on week 2 of my holiday, feeling rested and recovered, and don’t have any strong urge to get back anytime soon!
If this is the life you’ve always dreamed of, I want to share with you that it’s possible. And it’s possible NOW, not in some distant future when you finally retire.
The Kindness of Strangers
Something that has gotten lost…
I was walking along this bridge this morning when I passed by a couple struggling to take pictures with their child.
The dad was having a hard time getting a selfie with all 3 of them, so I went over and offered to take their pic.
The dad hesitated, and I could sense that he was assessing whether I could be trusted or if I would end up running away with his phone.
I didn’t really feel offended, as I understood where he was coming from (I probably would have done the same!)
It’s just sad that we live in a world where we can’t just assume people have good intentions and so we have to be wary of the kindness of strangers.
In any case, he ended up handing the phone over and we got some lovely shots of the family!
Blog Post Title Two
It all begins with an idea.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
