The Kindness of Strangers

I was walking along this bridge this morning when I passed by a couple struggling to take pictures with their child.

The dad was having a hard time getting a selfie with all 3 of them, so I went over and offered to take their pic.

The dad hesitated, and I could sense that he was assessing whether I could be trusted or if I would end up running away with his phone.

I didn’t really feel offended, as I understood where he was coming from (I probably would have done the same!)

It’s just sad that we live in a world where we can’t just assume people have good intentions and so we have to be wary of the kindness of strangers.

In any case, he ended up handing the phone over and we got some lovely shots of the family!
